VINPRISM / PRIVACY

Your information, explained.

For the questions that matter before you buy.

Private-preview notice. Purchases are disabled while business contact details and final partner processing terms are completed.

Information used for your report

A free lookup sends the VIN to NHTSA’s vPIC service. Model year, make and model are sent to public recall, safety and fuel-economy services. A lookup does not require an email address or payment information.

When purchases open, report preparation uses your VIN, odometer, province, selected vehicle configuration and driving-cost assumptions. The final Canada Drives connection will need its own documented data fields and processing notice before activation.

Payments and storage

When enabled, Stripe will collect payment and billing details on its hosted checkout. VinPrism will store the report snapshot, order reference and payment status. Card numbers will not be stored in VinPrism’s database.

A purchased report uses a private access link. Anyone you share that link with can view the report. Save a PDF for your own records and avoid posting the link publicly.

Cookies, infrastructure and transfers

The website does not currently use advertising pixels or marketing analytics. The hosting service may use authentication cookies and operational logs. Payment and public-data providers have their own privacy practices, and processing may occur outside Canada.

Your choices

Do not enter a VIN or other information you are not entitled to use. No marketing email is required. Retention periods, the responsible business’s contact details and the final partner disclosure will be completed before paid service launches.

VinPrism is in private preview. Purchases are not open. Customer-support contact details will be published before sales begin.
